Yoo Jae Suk's side "win confirmed, will take a month"
A media outlet reported that the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of Yoo Jae-suk in his lawsuit against former agency Storm E&F over unpaid appearance fees, but his lawyer said the verdict is not yet final and it will take about a month for all matters to be finalized. Yoo filed the lawsuit in December last year asking his former agency to pay the overdue appearance fees owed by the three major terrestrial broadcasters.

"Jail for raising suspicions? No such country"
Former prosecutor-turned-lawyer Kim Yong-won criticized the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Jeong Bong-ju’s conviction over BBK allegations, saying the ruling infringes freedom of expression by expanding opinions into statements of fact and permitting punishment even when there is a possibility of falsehood. He warned that allowing punishment on the basis of even a 10% chance of falsity will chill political scrutiny and violate the public’s right to know. He also condemned the Court for breaching the mandatory three-month rule in the Public Official Election Act by delaying the final judgment for three years, effectively extending disqualification from office and amounting to a serious legal violation and dereliction of duty.

Attorney Kim Yong-won "Publication of 'List of Long-Lived Natural Persons' Is Not Defamation"
Kim Yong-won, head of law firm Hanbyeol, urged the media and politicians to publish Jang Ja‑yeon’s handwritten letters and the list of implicated figures, arguing that those who received entertainment are public figures whose truths should be disclosed and that such disclosure is not defamation. He criticized the defamation law as an obstacle that protects the powerful and blocks social truth, saying investigators lack the will to uncover more through re‑investigation and emphasizing the role of society and the press. He also noted that criminal punishment is practically difficult because the victim is deceased and recipients could claim the encounters were voluntary, so he proposed societal rather than prosecutorial remedies.
