Jung Jun-ho, who also received the strategic nomination for Gwangju North from the Democratic Party, said on March 21 that "running in the alleys and streets will bring tangible results" as a way to overcome the lack of awareness.
Candidate Chung made the remarks at a press conference on the 'Democratic Party of Korea's 10 Pledges for Gwangju Development' held at the Gwangju City Council's 3rd floor briefing room this morning.
"Only yesterday, I came down to Gwangju from Seoul to meet with local residents and listen to public opinion," he said, adding, "There were a lot of worries and support." <"I think I will be able to give an organized statement on the countermeasures soon," he added.
Jung, a lawyer in his 30s, is a rookie who made a "surprise" appearance when the Democratic Party of Korea announced him as a strategic candidate for Gwangju Bukgap, the district of Rep. Kang Ki-jung, on the 18th.
In Bukgap, "influential figures" such as Kim Sang-gon, the chairman of the talent acquisition committee, and Kim Hong-gul, the third son of President Kim Dae-jung, have been mentioned.
This is why Representative Kang Ki-jung, who declared himself as a 'white-robed jongun' for the third term in the district, and local lawmakers in Bukgap demanded the withdrawal of the strategic nomination.
On the other hand, Jung is a former student body president of Gwangju Dongshin High School in Bukgap and graduated from Seoul National University Law School. He passed the 49th judicial examination, served as a prosecutor at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and worked as a lawyer specializing in M&A at Hanbyul Law Firm.
