Attorney Yongwon Kim's second publication
[ASIA TODAY=Choi Sung-wook, reporter] Lawyer Kim Yong-won (57), author of 'Benz without Brakes,' released his second work, 'Is There a Judge in Heaven?' was held at the Daepyeong Elementary School Auditorium in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, at 2 p.m. on the 3rd.
About 500 people attended the event to celebrate the release of the book, including Kim's acquaintances and legal circles in his hometown of Yeongdo, Busan.
"Attorney Kim Yong-won is an exemplary figure of an investigative prosecutor who uncovered the corruption in the fraternal welfare system, which no one else has done, and made it known to the entire nation," said Park Moo-woong, a former teacher at Kim Chang-yeon's elementary school.
Lee Sung-ho, a former teacher at the middle school, also said, "As a promising and excellent local lawyer and writer, Mr. Kim was an example of the realization of a just society as he showed the severity of the law against power and wealth when he was a prosecutor."We wish him all the justice he dreamed of through this book, which will have a great impact on society," said Mr. Kim.
Lawyer Kim Yong-won's new book, 'Is There a Judge in Heaven?' is published by Seogyo Publishing House and is divided into four parts with a total of 360 pages.
In this book, you'll find a rational critique of the endemic ills of Korea's last sanctuary, the legal profession, from the full court honor system to the sponsored judge.
Lawyer Kim Yong-won said, "Since I decided to stand with the weak from the time I was a prosecutor, I have never betrayed the weak, and because of this, I can be proud to say that I have lived only in the position of the weak in the ostracism of the strong." "This book is a book that raises the need for justice in judgment, and I hope that the public will recognize the real situation of the legal system through the book and act as a starting point for improvement," he said.
