Ministry of Justice launches specialized immigration policy journal 'Immigration and Integration'

The Ministry of Justice (Minister Park Sang-ki) announced on Saturday that it has launched a specialized immigration policy journal, Migration and Integration.
Migration and Integration was published to raise the academic level of immigration policy by providing an infrastructure for academic research activities related to immigration policy in the era of 2 million foreigners living in Korea.
The inaugural issue contains four research papers and two practical research papers, including "A Study on How to Improve the Status of Residence System under the Immigration Control Act," by Taehee Han, a Canadian lawyer at Hanbyul Law Firm; "Comments on Some Issues in Foreigner Immigration and Employment Policies," by Yongho Cha, a secretary at the Immigration and Foreign Policy Division of the Ministry of Justice; and "Comments on the Significance of Commercial Activities in the Operation of Korea's Short-term Commercial Visa System," by Heon Yang, a foreign lawyer at Eunjung Law Firm.
In his opening remarks, Minister Park said, "As Korea is rapidly entering an immigrant social environment, with the number of immigrants and resident aliens continuing to increase, immigration policy will be an important policy that determines the future of the country and its social environment." "I hope that 'Immigration and Integration' will serve as a valuable foundation for the development of Korea's immigration policy by revitalizing academic research in the field of immigration policy and sharing the results widely with the public," he said.
Immigration and Integration will be distributed in booklet and electronic form. The electronic file can be downloaded from the Ministry of Justice's website (www.moj.go.kr) and the Ministry's Immigration and Foreign Affairs Policy Division (www.immigration.go.kr).
