Lawyer Kim Yong-won (57), author of 'Benz without Brakes,' has released his second work, 'Is There a Judge in Heaven?' (Seogyo Publishing House 360P), was held at the auditorium of Daepyeong Elementary School in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, at 2 p.m. on the 3rd of this month.

The event was attended by more than 500 people, including acquaintances of Attorney Kim, whose hometown is Yeongdo, and members of the legal community, to celebrate the release of the book.

"Attorney Kim Yong-won is an exemplary figure of an investigative prosecutor who uncovered corruption in the fraternal welfare system that no one else has done," said Park Moo-woong, a former elementary school teacher who delivered the congratulatory remarks. "We applaud his just and courageous actions to clean up the legal system by disclosing the corruption of the prosecutor through this book."

Lee Sung-ho, a former teacher at the middle school, also said, "As a promising and excellent local lawyer and writer, Mr. Kim was a model of realizing a just society by showing the severity of the law in response to power and wealth when he was a prosecutor." "I wish all the just things that Mr. Kim dreamed of through this book, which will have a great impact on society, will come true quickly," he said.

The book criticizes the inherent ills of Korea's legal system, which is often referred to as the country's last sanctuary, from the full court honor system to sponsored prosecutors, from various logical perspectives.

"Since I decided to stand with the weak from the time I was a prosecutor, I have never betrayed the weak, and because of this, I can be proud to say that I have lived only in the position of the weak in the ostracism of the strong," said Kim Yong-won. "This book is a book that raises the need for justice in judgment, and I hope that the public will recognize the real situation of the legal system through the book and act as a starting point for improvement."
